The drawing itself was first introduced by a Reddit user named downlow in a post on Reddit on July 11th, 2010. Downlow had shared several unused drawings intended for rage comics, including the iconic illustration of Yao Ming. Further in the conversation in the same Reddit thread, the artist confirmed that the drawing was based on the moment captured during that press conference. Another user in the thread humorously suggested Yao's expression could be interpreted as him saying 'bitch please.'[1]
