Trollface originated from a character created by Oakland-based artist Carlos Ramirez, known by his DeviantART handle Whynne. The character was first introduced in a MS Paint webcomic that commented on the absurdity of trolling behaviors on 4chan's /v/ board. It was posted on DeviantART on September 19th, 2008, and can be seen here.[1]
